CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS                                                
In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited,  
the board of directors of Hardware hereby notifies its shareholders that        
Hamilton Anthony Long has been appointed as a non-executive director of the     
company with immediate effect.                                                  
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1972 and has approximately 20 years`  
experience as a partner in a medium-sized auditing firm. He has also acted as   
Financial Director in the retail industry. Currently he is Registrar: Finance   
and Operations at Rhodes University and a director of GBS Mutual Bank, chairing 
the Audit Committee. He is also a director of a number of small companies       
associated with the higher education sector.
